Wolverhampton Young Photographer Competition

Talented student photographers at St Thomas More Catholic School have recently been praised for the quality of their photography work. The A-level students had entered a selection of their images for inclusion in the Wolverhampton Young Photographer competition. The competition runs annually when students from across Wolverhampton are invited to submit their best images for consideration within a range of categories.

Images are shortlisted by members of Wolverhampton Photographic Society before the overall best pictures are chosen by a group of experience photographers, with prizes awarded to the winners.

After being praised for the quality of their work, five STM students have been successful in having their pictures selected amongst the finalists- Emma Cartwright, Aman Hussain, Tara Johnson, Kieron Murray and Pawandeep Singh. The final photographs, including those taken by St Thomas More Catholic School students, are now on display at a special exhibition being held at Wolverhampton Art Gallery.

The exhibition is now on until Sunday 9th February when the overall best pictures will be chosen at a special ceremony. It would be brilliant if you could get down to show your support!

Well done to all the students who entered and congratulations to all the finalists. Good luck!
