Vaccination Update

Dear Parents and Carers, since posting the letter yesterday providing additional information concerning the Covid vaccinations for 12-15 year olds we have since received confirmation from Vaccination UK and NHS England that our vaccination date will be Monday coming, October 11th.

A representative from Vaccination UK, their Operations Manager,  has spent time with us this morning discussing arrangements and looking at the venue to be used in school on the 11th.

These vaccinations will take place across the course of the school day.

We will use our Sports Hall as the vaccination centre.

The team administering the vaccinations will number between six and nine depending on the number of students with consent and therefore requiring vaccination.

A paediatric nurse will be present as part of the team as will the Operations Manager who visited us this morning.

We have been asked to remind all Parents and Carers that only students with consent will be vaccinated on the day.

Furthermore, it is essential that all children being vaccinated have eaten prior to their vaccination.

Therefore it is advisable that children have had their breakfast in advance and avail of something at break and/or lunch as we cannot guarantee the time that they will be called to be vaccinated.

I have also been asked to remind Parents and Carers that consent must be provided two days in advance for the vaccination session and would therefore all Parents and Carers intending for their child to be vaccinated to compete the online permissions form as soon as is possible.

I will pass on any additional detail as soon as I am made aware of it.
