Today we celebrate Holy Saturday

Today is Holy Saturday, this is the day between Good Friday and Easter Sunday in the Catholic Liturgical Calendar.

The day celebrates the vigil that Christ’s followers held for him outside of his tomb, waiting for his resurrection.

Fasting is not required, and the only mass held is an Easter Vigil at sundown on Saturday.

The order for the Easter Vigil is arranged.

The first part of the Vigil is the service of light and the Easter Proclamation ‘The light of Christ’.

The second part of the Vigil is the Liturgy of the Word.

The third part is when together with those new members for Baptism we are renew our Baptism promises.

The fourth part is when we are called to the table prepared by the Lord for his Church—the commemoration of his death and resurrection—until he comes.
