Dear Parents and Carers, please find enclosed an update from West Midlands Police regarding a serious incident that happened in the wider locality to school.
The sharing of this information falls within the perimeters of our continued engagement as a Walsall school with our local Police, and as such, is part of our ongoing work to keep our students as safe as possible whilst travelling to and from school.
“We are investigating after a fatal stabbing in Wolverhampton [on Monday 13th November].
We were called to Laburnum Road, East Park, shortly before 8:30pm after a 19-year-old man was stabbed.
Sadly, nothing could be done to save him and he died of his injuries at the scene.
Officers held a scene throughout the night so forensic enquiries could be carried out and are continuing their enquiries in the surrounding area today.
The family of the man who died have been informed and we are supporting them.
We are appealing for anyone who was in the area between 8pm and 9pm [on Monday 13th November] to get in touch if they saw anything.
Any piece of information, however small, could be vital to our investigation.
