On 15th November, a group of year 9 students attended the World Skills Show event in Birmingham. The World Skills Show is the UK’s largest skills, apprenticeships and careers event. At the event students were able to talk to employers such as Land Rover Jaguar, Lloyd’s TSB and the NHS as well as colleges and universities. It was a great chance for students to get an insight into different industries ranging from hospitality to construction and engineering. Students were able to ask questions about their post 16 options, college and sixth from, and post 18 options, university, apprenticeships, work. They were also able to watch several competitions take place in areas such as internet safety, forensic science and cooking.

On 20th November, a group of year 10 students and their parents attend the launch of a Right Track Programme at the University of Wolverhampton in conjunction with Aspire to HE (Higher Education). They received a talk on the benefits of higher education, thought about what they would like from their future and meet other students also on the programme. On the programme students will get the chance to visit a university and experience student life as well as receiving group and one to one mentoring in area’s such as post 15/18 options, study skills and career options.
