Message update from the headteacher

Dear Parents and Carers, thank you for your queries following our post updating you on the steps we are taking in school to ensure that all students and staff are well and safe.

We are aware that some Parents and Carers may need to drop their children at school earlier than 8.30 am due to work commitments. Some children will arrive before 8.30 am because of the public bus they take. Additionally, the arrival of our school buses might mean that some of our children are also on school premises before 8.30 am. To both facilitate that and to comply with current guidance we have put in place what we are calling ‘Bus Form’ in each year group’s Learning Hub to provide a central location for all those children who will arrive into school earlier than 8.30 am. At 9.05 am these students will then move from the  ‘Bus Forms’ to their designated classrooms, again within their Learning Hub, to commence lessons.

Children will not be left outside on the drive or the gates. Morning duty staff will ensure that all children are monitored, cared for and directed to their designated Learning Hub.

Equally so, should children travel both to school and home using our school buses, they will leave their lesson as usual at 3.00 pm and straight on to their school bus as relevant. They will not attend Form in the afternoon should that be scheduled for their Year group e.g. students in Years 8,9,10 and the Sixth Form and so will not miss their school bus.

Please do not hesitate to contact me or our school office should you have any further queries or concerns.

Thank you,

Mrs Bowen
