Dear Parents and Carers,
We recently wrote to inform you that St Thomas More Catholic School is working in partnership with other schools on the formation of a new Multi Academy Company across South Staffordshire, Walsall and Wolverhampton.
There is still much work to undertake before we formally convert to an Academy and today we are pleased to announce that the Archdiocesan Trustees have agreed to name the proposed new family of schools as:
Blessed Carlo Acutis Catholic Multi Academy Company
Over the next few weeks, our children will be engaging in school activities to learn more about Blessed Carlo Acutis who was born in London and moved to Italy with his family at an early age. He sadly died of leukaemia at the age of 15 but his short life was devoted to using the internet to speak to the world about his great love for the Eucharist.
Blessed Carlo Acutis will be an inspirational figure for our young people, in both his dedication to his faith to spread the Good News of Christ’s deep love for each of us along with his support for the poor, many of whom attended his funeral.
Blessed Carlo himself said “To always be close to Jesus, that’s my life plan.” We pray that this will be a call that can be taken up by the children and young people that our Multi Academy Company will be created to serve.
