We have received the following letter praising student Julia who is a volunteer at Caldmore Community Garden:

Dear Mrs S Bowen
Julia has once again volunteered during the October half-term at Caldmore Community Garden, giving up her own time for the benefit of others. We wanted to let you know that she continues to help whenever possible at weekends and during the school holidays.
Julia has not only been a credit to her family and to St Thomas More Catholic School but has also been an excellent champion of the Community Garden. It was especially touching to see Julia nurture other young volunteers, befriending them, and making them welcome. She continues to be punctual, enthusiastic, pleasant, and resourceful.
This half-term was particularly busy as it included our Halloween event on Tuesday evening and our Festival of Lights on Saturday and Sunday evening, as well as the holiday playscheme during the daytime. Julia brought her energy and confidence to our Halloween event which was designed to be a fun and safe space for children to gather on a popular evening celebration. We had children from all faiths attend and Julia showed great maturity in echoing our ethos of inclusivity by welcoming all to the garden.
Julia helped at the holiday playscheme on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday and undertook any task asked of her with enthusiasm. On Sunday evening, Julia made time to support the Community Garden even though she had only just returned from a weekend with the cadets. She helped to steward the Lantern Procession which was a fantastic community event bringing the diverse community of Caldmore together in a joyful and beautiful procession of lanterns.
Thank you for your school’s contribution in helping to shape a confident and positive young woman. Her hard work has been much appreciated by the team at Caldmore Community Garden as well as by attendees at the events and the playscheme. We have received nothing but good feedback regarding her help.
Kind regards,
Anna
