Important notice for parents of Year 9

Dear Parents and Carers, over the last week we have continued to receive confirmation of positive LFTs which have been further confirmed by positive PCRs, all of which have come from our Year 9 Learning Hub. A number of you have already been affected by the number of students that we have had to send home to self-isolate as a consequence. On the basis of the information we have been able to provide for Public Health Walsall and follow up discussions held with them we have taken the decision  to fully shut our Year 9 Learning Hub down and would ask all Year 9 students to self-isolate at home for the remainder of this week inclusive of Monday next July 19th. This is in keeping with the approach taken by a number of other schools that lots of schools who have established outbreaks, are shutting year bubbles down and reverting to virtual learning in order to circuit break.

To ensure that both lessons continue and the school day can continue in essence as much as much possible, your children’s class teachers will now move to delivering live lessons via Teams. This delivery will follow your children’s existing timetable inclusive of break and lunchtime. We will monitor attendance and engagement to support your child’s contribution across the coming week. Form time, Weekly Year and Praise Assembly will be delivered virtually also.

Provision is also being put in place for any families using our ASDA card scheme, details will be issued to you directly.

Well-being calls will also continue as previously.

We appreciate that this is less than ideal but we are keen to deliver and support as best we can given the circumstances we find ourselves in and the advice and direction issued by Public Health Walsall.

Please do not hesitate to contact school if there is anything else we can do to help or support you.
