Hello, as we close for our summer holidays at the end of another academic year, I wanted to take this time to thank you for your continued support with all manner of things over the last twelve months. Your engagement and interest as Parents and Carers in everything we do never goes unnoticed and is truly appreciated.
We have had a busy number of weeks recently with all kinds of wonderful activities and opportunities for our students. Our Year 11 Prom was a most exciting time for all. A great time was had by all and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves, staff and students alike. The Sweet Cart was a hit, the food was delicious, the music entertaining and as we say at home in Ireland, ‘the style was crushing’, in other words, everyone looked amazing.
Most recently our girls attended a GTec event with Mrs Panesar. You can see the photos an write up about the event on our website. It was most pleasing to both see our girls taking part in an event that can often be considered a niche employment field or one most known for attracting males and even more so to see them enthused and enjoying the event. Needless to say they were exceptional ambassadors for school in terms of their smart attire and uniform and their manners and pleasant and polite disposition whilst there.
Speaking of student leadership, please read the article detailing the membership of our Lead Student and Senior Prefect Team in the Sixth Form. We have increased our number to twenty based on the exceptional skill set and enthusiastic approach taken by all towards the interview process. We are most lucky and our school community will be blessed by their involvement in wider school life. As a group they attended Mass recently with Fr David and were blessed and initiated formally into their role of service and ministry within school.
Enclosed in this final edition is important detail with regards to our standards and expectations regarding attendance and uniform. Please do read through the information to reacquaint/acquaint yourself with the detail enclosed in preparation for our return in September.
With regards to our return, please note the following:
- Monday 4th and Tuesday 5th of September are Inset Days for staff only.
- Wednesday 6th September is Induction Day for Years 7 and 12 only.
- Thursday 7th September is return for all students in all Year groups, 7-13.
I have also asked that the letter posted recently with regards to our expectations concerning behaviour of all whilst on site to eb included in this edition. This also includes an update to my original posting. Please do take the time to read this. Again, as staff we are immensely appreciative of the support and correct approach demonstrated by the significant majority of you as families but I am sure you will appreciate that as in any work place, colleagues and school staff, regardless of their role, deserve to be addressed with respect and civility.
Please take care over the next six weeks and know that you are in our prayers always.
