Taken from More News Issue 03, 2022/23:
Hello, I hope you are enjoying the beautiful autumn colours that surround us at present and that this edition finds you keeping well.
In our last edition I made you aware that we would include a number of our traditional prayers as a regular feature but that this would be amended depending on the focus of our Church or Liturgical Calendar. In this edition we have included specific information about the rosary. October is the month specially devoted to the rosary as a prayer to Mary our Mother. During the next number of weeks we will say the Hail Mary as one of our prayers in school and will turn to her in prayer asking for her guidance and support.
Key Sixth Form colleagues met with our Year 11 students to discuss their next steps. This included discussions regarding their choice of course here at STM, entry requirements, current academic progress and options outside of STM especially so if students are thinking of a more practical hands on route. It was wonderful to welcome so many of you as Parents and Carers in to school. We truly hope you both enjoyed your time with us and that you found it informative and of use.
Our Year 11 students are busy preparing for their PPEs commencing shortly after our return from half term. A specific schedule of support and preparation is about to be delivered which will cover after school provision, information and guidance with regards to study and revision skills during Form time which will be mirrored during lessons and via tasks set for homework and revision outside of school. Part of our ongoing plans to support our Year 11 students is to provide small group tuition using specific direction and guidance from the National Tutoring programme. It is our intention that this will commence once PPEs have been taken and data has been gathered as this will identify students most in need and where gaps are most pronounced.
