Congratulations to our student achievers of the year!

Congratulations to the following students who have been nominated by St Thomas More Catholic School for the outstanding achievements. They have recently appear in a special supplement of the Express and Star newspaper.

David Arisa

Year 7

David has had an exceptional first year. His behaviour and attitude to learning is of the highest standard. He has conducted himself with 100% commitment and genuine enthusiasm in all subjects and extracurricular activities. David competed in the ‘West Midlands Popstars 2019’ final; he has been integral to all school choir activities and performances throughout the year including our Christmas concert, and has been cast as ‘Lion’ in our upcoming production of ‘The Wizard of Oz’.

Harleen Badyal

Year 8

Harleen has consistently proved she is an outstanding student. Harleen is polite, hardworking and a delight to have at school. Academically, she is high achieving and works tirelessly to ensure the work she produces is of an excellent standard. This year she has excelled in English lessons and had poetry work published in the ‘Young Writers Competition Book’. We have no doubt that she will continue to be outstanding and maintain her high standards.

Fionn Darcy-Dean

Year 9

Fionn has had a fantastic year, he has worked consistently hard in all of his subjects to make great progress as he has commenced his GCSE studies. He is a model student and has demonstrated genuine compassion and empathy towards his peers both inside and outside of lessons. He has participated in a range of extra-curricular activities including an ‘Aspire to Higher Education’ residential and a university trip.

Josie Saka

Year 10

Josie has the most positive attitude towards learning. She will always give maximum effort and complete all she does to the best of her ability. Josie participates in school activities and led on the Year 10 work experience charity event. She is always pleasant to staff and students, and also supports the Catholic ethos of our school and wider community as an altar server at St Joseph’s Parish. She is a real credit to our school community.

James Glennon

Year 11

James has had a fantastic year at St Thomas More; he is on course to achieve some exceptional GCSE grades. He is a great role model for the other students and both his staff and his peers hold him in high regard. His dedication to his studies is first class, so much so, that for the last few years James has given up his own time in order to study an additional GCSE.
