Remembrance

I was very moved by the Remembrance Service today, we thought about all of those who have given their lives for our freedom and we particularly remembered those who fought on the Somme one hundred years ago. I was very proud of our students, who as ever were respectful and smart and participated in accordance with our usual high expectations. It was wonderful to see all of our students who are in the scouts, cadets and other related organisations who wore their uniforms and looked extremely smart.

Year 11 Parents' Evening (Revision and Mocks)

On the 21st and 22nd November between 3 and 4:30 SLT and core subject heads will be available to drop in and talk to parents about revision and mocks. These exams are very important as many of them will determine which tier of exam (e.g. higher or foundation) students are entered for. Parents will also be shown revision materials and can have the chance to look at a period 6 lesson (maths) in order to see how this will help their son/daughter to achieve their potential.

House System

Following students’ feedback we are going to launch a house system. This will allow students to work hard, contribute to school life including to an increased number of competitions and win more rewards. The system will be launched with students later on this month and further details will be given.
