What a busy term it has been at St Thomas More. I am delighted that we have further improved our exemplary behaviour record and achieved the best ever attendance, we now need to do even better next half term.

Homework

Students have worked hard towards the record results we are predicting, please ensure that they complete all their homework during half-term, it’s never too late to sign up to the SMH app to help and encourage them. Ideally students should aim to get the work done to a good standard and then have some time off knowing that they have earned it! It’s a great opportunity to catch up with everything and come back to school feeling calm and prepared.

The Autumn Concert

I am looking forward to the Autumn concert. It is always a pleasure to see our students perform which shows not just how talented they are but also their courage and hard work. I am particularly excited about this concert as it was the students who approached the Music Department and myself in order to seek permission to organise the event. Our brand new Music Department have also put in an amazing amount of effort to help make the evening a success. I do hope that you will be able to join us for the concert.

Sixth Form Goals Facility

I am delighted to say that our new Sixth Form facility at Goals will be ready to use straight after half term. This will allow our Sixth Form students to have an extra social facility including access to football pitches and a new food outlet. It should be very exciting!

Year 11 Six-Week Form Boosters

After half term, some Year 11 students will have half a term with a completely new group to give them a boost in a key subject. As always, our staff are working hard to offer anything at all they can to benefit our students. Over the next term and a half different groups of students will be able to participate in these key subject boosters. Year 11 students have come back with a really positive attitude and continue to take all that we offer them in order to get the best possible GCSE results. We will ensure that there is a celebration and a chance to relax during the last week of term.

Well done to all our hard working and respectful students, we are very proud of you!

God bless
