Year 9 Options’ Evening will take place on February 1st. This will include talks about how the curriculum and pathways will work in more detail.

There will be talks and the opportunity for conversations with options staff who will set up stalls with further information

Every student will be given an options booklet with detailed curriculum information on the evening.

Talks will start at 5pm and will be repeated again at 6pm. The stalls will be available between 5pm and 7pm.

Your child will then have one week to discuss the information booklet and evening with you and time to ask staff further questions. We have a careers specialist, Ms Rasmin, who can provide additional information and guidance for students. However, with the exception of Computer Science, all subjects can be picked up again in Sixth Form for students who want to study them at A level (subject to grades achieved at GCSE). Whilst our curriculum, in-line with most schools, does not offer a wide variety of options it is broad and balanced, this means that it does not prevent students from progressing into other subjects and careers later.

Options forms must be submitted to Mr Virgo at 9am on February the 8th.

I hope that our Options’ Evening will answer all the questions you have, but the school is more than happy to answer any additional questions in order to support students making the best decisions for their future.
