On 27th April, A-level Physics students visited the Jodrell Bank Radio Observatory in north Cheshire. Whilst at the telescope, students experienced a virtual stargazing session in the inflatable planetarium and put their maths skills to good use in a workshop on pulsar neutron stars (a session that was delivered by a recent PhD graduate originally from Darlaston with relations attending St Thomas More). The day was enjoyed by all and the students agreed that it really enhanced and supported the learning and understanding of astrophysics.
