Year 7 students revel in tasty visit to Cadbury World
Class 7T5 visited Cadbury World on 17th October as part of their study of ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ by Roald Dahl. They learned about the history of Cadbury and the village of Bournville, and gained an insight into the chocolate manufacturing process. As part of their tour, the group also explored the origins of the cocoa bean during a journey through an Aztec jungle, and discovered how cocoa was brought to Europe by Hernan Cortez, a Spanish explorer.
After lunch, the group enjoyed the Cadbury 4D Cinema Experience, which was as exhilarating as a real rollercoaster!
Trip organiser Miss S Duncombe said, “The students had a wonderful day. The whole experience complemented their study of ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ by Roald Dahl, enabling them to compare the fictional representation of the chocolate manufacturing process with the very real story of Cadbury.”
