As well as revising hard for their exams, our Sixth Form students have also been having lots of fun taking part in a variety of extra-curricular activities.
Last week Form 12V put together their own team, known as Team Capewell, and took part in the inter-form rounders tournament.
The students decided they would go the extra mile and raise money for a cause close to their hearts; Cancer Research UK. Many of the students have seen the effects of cancer through family members and loved ones, so they felt it was the perfect cause to support. The whole group dressed in pink costumes and made themselves look as silly as possible. Our Team Captain, Owen, was ‘best dressed’ and played all three rounders matches wearing a long red wig, sparkly purple dress and bright pink leg warmers.
Most students from Miss Capewell’s Form played in the team or showed their support by cheering from the sidelines. Unfortunately the team didn’t win, but they raised lots of money for Cancer Research UK; the original target was £50.00 but so-far £175.71 has been raised and more money is still coming in! Well done to everyone in Team Capewell.
Altogether there were four teams competing in the tournament - two Year 12 teams and two Year 13 teams. We also had a lot of support from other students and staff. Thanks to the PE department for umpiring the event. Congratulations to team Sinderounders who won every game.
