Safer Internet Day 2016 took place on the 9th February with the theme Play your part for a better internet!

Coordinated in the UK by the UK Safer Internet Centre the celebration saw hundreds of organisations get involved to help promote the safe, responsible and positive use of digital technology for children and young people.

St Thomas More Catholic School participated by holding special assemblies for each year group focussing on Internet safety. Each form group also received a pack full of suggestions for suitable activities including holding discussions and debates, watching relevant videos, and inventing inspiring slogans to help promote positive and safe online behaviour.

You can find advice about staying safe online and further information about this event on the official Safer Internet UK website.
