St Thomas More peace garden

St Thomas More Catholic School held a service to remember the fallen and honour their own heroes.

Over 1,800 students, staff and visitors gathered in the Willenhall school's halls to stand in silence, reflect and remember those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice to protect our country and way of life. Students laid wreaths and planted remembrance crosses inscribed with personal messages within the school's peace garden.

The service followed the school's British Values Day when thousands of paper poppies were created and displayed within the school.

Headteacher Dr S J Hatfield said, "I was extremely impressed with all of those who contributed by making displays, reading at the service and with our cadets and guides who were so smart and professional. It is important to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice. We will remember them."
