This year the Year 11 Prom was held at the Grand Station in Wolverhampton on Thursday 22nd June. Its sophisticated, chic décor set the scene for the wonderful evening ahead for both students and staff.
One hundred and sixty-four students arrived in an array of stylish, classy cars and then posed on the celebrity red carpet to have their photographs taken. It was lovely to see our Year 11 students dressed up in their finest; they all looked so glamourous and so grown up.
Before entering the main hall, which was decorated with a colour scheme of pinks and purples, drinks were served to us underneath the elegant crystal chandelier in the reception area. Students made good use of the sweet trolley before tucking in to the buffet, which was excellent.
The behaviour of our students was outstanding; they really enjoyed themselves and they danced the night away. Everyone had a great time and the staff at the Grand Station actually commented on how much our students were enjoying themselves and on the fantastic ambiance created because of this.
The evening was a fitting final celebration of our Year 11 students’ time at St. Thomas More Catholic School as they prepare to embark on the next stage of their journey into the wider world. For those staying on for Sixth Form we will welcome them back in September; those students who are moving on, we thank you and wish you all the best for the future. It has been a pleasure and a privilege to be your Head and Assistant Head of Year.
We would like to congratulate our students on the significant progress they have made and the positive attitude they have demonstrated this year. We sincerely hope that their exam results will reflect their determined efforts.
We would also like to take this opportunity to thank parents and carers for their consistent support over the years.
