St Ignatius helps us to pray at the end of the day. This is a method of prayer which can also help us to make the right decisions life; he helps us to distinguish between different choices in life.

Begin by making the Sign of the Cross,

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Thank God for the day.

You may find it helpful to remember the events of the day as they happened and to thank God for them one by one.

  • Begin with the morning. Remember the journey you made to get to school: the people you were with, the people you saw
  • Think about the day you had at school: the people in your tutor group; your teachers; what news did you hear?; was it good; what did you learn? How has it help you? How has it changed you?
  • Then remember being at home with parents and brothers and sisters: How are they? Ask God to bless them, their lives, and their work.

Thank God for the good times during the day

  • Thank God for the times he has been in your life today.
  • When was God not in your life today? Ask him to forgive you.
  • Ask God to bless you. Ask God to keep your heart and mind fixed on him.

End your prayer by making the Sign of the Cross,

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
