‘Nobody expected Him just like that: a baby, a manger in a stable, young parents from a village in the hills. Nobody expected that His first visitors would be shepherds, little thought of in the eyes of the great. Yes He has come; but not as we expected.'
We reflect this week on the good news that ‘God is with us’! The love of God made present for each one of us in our homes, communities, and world. Yet present in a way few have ever understood, in the form of a child; Jesus. In the last few days of waiting we pray that Jesus will come to birth in each one of us.
Father, help us during these last days of Advent
to grow closer to You.
Help us to see the need in our lives
to follow Your ways of love.
We make this prayer through Jesus, Your Son, who lives
and reigns with You in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever.
