‘There can be no happiness for us as long as the things we do are different from the things we believe in.’ (Anon)
The face says much about a person yet it is only a shell, a mask even. What is truly beautiful about a person is often hidden. We should then beware of judging others on face value. We should look into another’s face, not to judge or condemn them but to understand them. We cannot judge from what we see in a face. Our true greatness is hidden, just like the true greatness of Jesus was hidden. In time, St Paul tells us, ‘Christ will change our bodies into copies of His glorious body’.
Father, fill our hearts with Your love,
and keep us faithful to the Gospel of Christ.
Give us the grace to rise above our human weakness.
Grant this through Christ our Lord.
