‘God hasn’t stopped talking. He talks through the lives of loving people.’

The Gospel reading last weekend told us of the time that Peter, James and John saw Jesus in all His glory on the mountain top. The face of Jesus was described as ‘shining like the sun’. His inner glory shone through and the disciples were filled with joy because they had seen one of the faces of Jesus. Christ had all the faces that we have, except the false ones. His face could show weariness, look at when He fell asleep in the boat. Disappointment when He was rejected. It showed anger when He cleansed the Temple. It showed gentleness when He was with children. It showed sadness when He cried at the grave of a friend.

Luke 9 : 28-36

Jesus took Peter, John, and James and went up the mountain to pray. While He was praying His face changed in appearance and His clothing became dazzling white. Then… came a voice that said, “This is my chosen Son; listen to him.” After the voice had spoken, Jesus was found alone. They fell silent and did not tell anyone what they had seen.
